New event #8trigrams coming soon :)
With my Asian lifestyle and my Western worldview, I am interested in the wisdom of other cultures and want to learn from inspiring personalities. I wonder how humans, planets, and cultures are connected. What does Bruce Lee mean by "be like water"? What is Einsteins formula E = mc2 all about? What are the different teachings on the phases of the moon in Daoism or Ramadan? I am happy about an inspiring exchange of knowledge with like-minded people, who also love to work on themselves and share their wisdom with others :)
As a native Swiss with Vietnamese roots, I consider martial arts as a complete system. This system includes body, mind, and spirit as well as being one with nature. The teaching of Daoist philosophy belongs to my values. Daoist philosophy lays the foundation for yin and yang as well as the 5 phases of change.
More than 10 years ago, I discovered the beautiful art of Muay Thai in a well-known gym in Winterthur, a wonderful city in Switzerland. I also had the opportunity to learn traditional Muay Thai in a WMC-certified training camp in Thailand. Some practice combat sports out of passion, for mental strength or to stay fit. Others martial arts athletes feel the urge to compete in a championship to win belts. My dedication to martial arts is primarily to decipher the philosophy behind it as a cycle of change.
I welcome light sparring in training to improve technique before increasing speed and intensity for hard sparring. During hard sparring, my protection mechanism is activated. My subconscious mind therefore only executes techniques that I already know. On the other hand, relaxed and controlled training helps me to feel safe and to be in a flow to perfect my technique, adapt myself to my opponent, and react accordingly. By applying all the techniques learned, light sparring helps me understand human structure so that I can intuitively develop my own fighting style.
From an early age, my grandparents taught me the wisdom of the Chinese horoscope to achieve peace and harmony. Yin and Yang and the 5 phases of transformation are part of the Chinese horoscope. In order for Yin to become Yang and Yang to become Yin, it is important to understand that humans are in a cycle too. For me, a balanced mind is essential to living in the present, being mentally strong, and unlocking its highest potential. Being aligned with a straight back represent the basic prerequisite for a balanced posture.
Internal martial arts such as Qigong are also known to cultivate energy in the body, mind, and spirit to maintain and improve health and well-being. My goal is to keep expanding my potential on the level of body, mind, and spirit. I am a certified hypnosis therapist with advanced training in mental spinal upliftment. Acquiring knowledge helps me to remain in the cycle of transformation. This includes improving my understanding of internal martial arts. I have developed basic expertise in Qigong and Tai Chi :) Inner balance helps me to take better care of myself and my environment.
Lerdsila Chumpairtour is one of my main inspirations in martial arts. He flows like water and is light as air. His thoughts are free. His posture is relaxed and balanced. He masters martial arts as a whole cycle.
